I think you'll find that Twitter is not actually denying that vaccines cause harm. They are saying you are not allowed to talk about it. Debate is always lethal to authoritarians and those who intend or are careless about harm.
The *levels* of censorship have never been worse in the west, but part of the reason they are pushing back so hard in MSM now is that they lost control of the narrative in the last 2 decades because of the internet.
What happened before then, when they had more control of the narrative?
They still used MSM and institutions to demonize and discredit Nobel Prize winners like Linus Pauling, for instance:

Absolutely criminal & murderous by Twitter. Twitter is knowingly, intentionally and proactively censoring very important free speech and science and medicine, which could be saving lives and not causing more deaths. This is defacto murder by Twitter.

Almost immediately my @ChoiceVax account was flagged and ghosted, my views /impressions per post dropped by 95%, then I stopped posting to twitter. So they won, as the only way to gain followers was by following others, but still no-one got to see my posts, it became no longer worth the time or effort.
