Do you know the history of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict?
Take the PragerU quiz and find out!
I have deliberately shied away from commenting on the Israeli-Palestine situation since I do not like to speculate on matters where I have no knowledge, especially unless I have insights that are privileged and can, therefore, add value.
Nevertheless, I inevitably do try to educate myself by reading and researching. Fortunately, I have made several new friends in the scientific and academic communities in the last few years, who I have enormous trust and respect for due to their endeavours to reveal the truth of the horrific tyranny we now face on a global scale (COVID response, climate crisis, phony, proxy wars).
Many of them do have intimate knowledge of the situation so I have been able to get what I would consider to be reliable perspectives.
They recently challenged me to take this quiz on the history of the Arab-Israeli conflict:
Although I got all the answers correct, I admitted that many were simply educated guesses. Nevertheless, I was amazed that I did not already know these answers for sure. I wonder how many people outside of the region do?
I guess there are substantially more people who also do not know this history, especially amongst those who feel entitled to weigh in on the situation with their opinions, simply because they have the platform to do so. For me, this is the crux of most problems - people with opinions that are not rooted in facts or at least supported with evidence.
How did you do?
Ten out of ten. Note that these questions are framed and skewed to make the Arabs appear to be savage villains. Yes, the recent Hamas attack was an atrocity, but there are legitimate grievances on both sides of this blood feud that stretch back centuries, if not millennia. Sadly, the cycle of death will likely continue for the remainder of our lifetimes.
With what right were the Jews/Zionists given half the territory of the Palestinians?
