Travelling back to London tonight from Portugal, but am so excited to learn from the man who drove us to Faro airport that he was unvaxxed (this came up because I said I had to have a covid test at the airport). We high fived each other. He said all Portugese mandates including covid tests to fly will be ended at the end of March. He also said pregnant women are BANNED from getting experimental biologicals in Portugal. There is hope.
Great podcast Joel, entertaining and edifying at the same time.
The 2 main takeaways for me are:
1. We need to keep reminding ourselves, and others, of the Alberta data slip (it just seems to me such a fundamental point, but impossible to prove the real-world impact except with this)
2. The temporal link of jab rollouts with spikes in all-cause mortality: to avoid the charge of cherry-picking specific countries, is there a single article or paper that shows this happens across a large number of heterogenous countries?
Also, you mentioned Norman Fenton's take-down of asymptomatic transmission. I wasn't aware of this - would you point me to where I can find it?
I am an Alberta resident. I have submitted a FOI request to Alberta Health. The response is overdue. I’ll provide the results to Joel Smalley if I ever get the information. I’ve asked for the government analysis and reasons for removing the data from the website.
For those who are new to the Alberta story: half of all “breakthrough” cases and resulting hospitalization and death occurred among people who first tested positive within two weeks of their first jab. This was on the Alberta Health website for about two weeks in early January (and can be found with web archive tools). They were likely infected even earlier ( ie in the first week) then eventually decided to get tested. Because vaccinated status is conferred only two weeks after the jab, these people get counted as the “despicable” unvaxxed who are getting sick.
Can't wait! Your insights, instincts and and research based findings are always spot on and I look forward to the latest findings and thoughts in real time. Thank you for the invite! I wouldn't miss it.
Listened to the podcast. You are a brilliant analyst and my most sincere thanks for your work. I felt optimistic at the end of the podcast. Thanks again, Joel.

Thanks again for the video - Joe Rogan next.
1. My FOI to the ONS was inevitably declined. I have requested internal review.
2. This is a good global study using Bayesian analysis - https://vector-news.github.io/editorials/CausalAnalysisReport_html.html
3. Here is Norman and Martin's take down of the 1 in 3 asymptomatic rubbish - https://probabilityandlaw.blogspot.com/2021/04/smashing-1-in-3-people-with-covid-19.html

I’m assuming Gettr? It does do livestreams now.
I think you just click on the "Live" button in the main menu at 9pm and it should be there.
here's the link (just starting): https://gettr.com/streaming/pyq6ir5405
Is there an offline version afterwards Joel?
Yes, I'll follow up.
