National Adverse Events Following Immunisation (AEFI)
The Australian Edition with per Dose Measures
One of the frequent comments that are dogmatically made when COVID vaccine disciples are presented with the inordinate number of harms reported in the various surveillance systems is that we have never given so many vaccinations before so inevitably the number of reports will be higher.
Also, inevitably, they never bother to substantiate the claim by investigating how the number of COVID vaccinations does indeed compare to others.
Admittedly, it’s not a trivial task because the data is not readily available, if at all and never easy to simply download and work with.
Why go to all that effort when dogma and parroting state-sponsored propaganda is your counter-argument of choice?
Fortunately, Australia does have some available historical data. It wasn’t easy to find or extract so I cannot fully vouch for its completeness or acuracy but it’s the best I could do.
Regardless of this, the results are so compelling that I can’t think that any incompleteness or error would make a material difference.
Starting with all adverse events (AE), it is evident that the COVID vaccines in 2021 are quite substantially higher than the prior 3 years. But what of the number per dose?
According to the National Center for Immuniation Research and Surveillance (NCIRS), between 6 and 7.5 million vaccine doses were given for influenza, HPV, dTPA and Meningococcal ACWY in adolescents and adults each year between 2018 and 2020.
According to Our World in Data, as of 21-Nov 38.44 million COVID doses had been given.
Using the respective denominators, this gives an AE per 8,000 to 12,000 doses for other vaccines and about 1 in 450 for COVID, i.e. about 18 to 26 times higher.
In terms of fatal outcomes, Australia historically has experienced 1 death every 1 to 2.8 million vaccine doses. In 2021 for COVID, it is reported at 1 in 57k, i.e. 20 to 50 times higher.
And there’s still another month and a bit to report.
There goes that argument then.
Thank you, excellent point!
This is a very important info, thanks for digging it out. Considering a typical under-reporting rate, one gets close again to of order of 1 death/1000 jabs, as in one of your previous analyses.
