In my house we are burying my late husband’s ashes today. So a different kind of Father’s Day. We are taking him up to the top of our field above our house from where he can see the sea. And we’ll plant his favourite pine trees around him in due course.
That’ll be this afternoon when our teenage son is up.
I've taught my kids to be leery of Hallmark and other tools of the establishment. Nobody knew it was Father's Day, but all three hugged me. That's enough.
A contrary opinion. It has been my observation the The Hall Family has been very generous with their employees and in some locals, an employer of choice. As to their politics? They must be very subtle, I never noticed. It is the nature of their business that they do employ "Artsy People".
I knew nothing of the Hall family. I simply resent being cajoled to honor made-up holidays with compulsory gifts. We do birthdays and Christmas. That's it.
I’m still in bed! I can hear my daughter getting our usual Sunday treat ready, freshly baked croissants which is normally my job as I’m the one first up usually. My son won’t be up till early afternoon as he’s been defending the world from monsters ( not the WEF….yet) most of the night, then it will be off to our favourite restaurant in Dedham for a late lunch as is the tradition for the last 19 years!!
My daughter makes me a card every father’s day - it’s usually a drawing of Homer Simpson and always pokes fun at me. Never mind any of the gifts that my family give me, her card is what i look forward to and what i treasure most. Happy father’s day everyone
I hope this comes out in the vain it's meant: To all Fathers, imagine what you would have missed if your parents had decided that you should be a little girl and rushed you to the chopping block to be put on puberty blockers and have your genitals chopped off. In America, we still can't get politicians to muster the courage to speak out against this absolute theft of a person's future. Thank God for good Fathers. Your work on behalf of the next generation is priceless.

Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing men out there 😊🙏
Very cute!
I will give a shout out to those whose adult kids disowned them for being unjabbed. I will be your family.
Mine’s a teenager, so it will probably arrive late afternoon.
If anything like my 2 in there early 20s and still as "bright" as ever, late afternoon on Christmas day (saving the cost of a stamp).

And their children
I’m 70 and I have an 18-year-old and I have a 30-year-old son. They’re both there loving me up. I am so lucky.
Leave this world a little better than you found it.

We always got my late, great Dad "Best Dad Ever" card and usually a matching coffee mug :)
Happy Father's Day, Joel and all the fathers who are here.
Happy Father’s Day.
